The Danish writer Janne Teller is still – nine years after the release – doing extremely well with her existential youth-novel Nothing.
Nothing has recently been bought by the Spanish publishing house Seix Barral and the Dutch Clavis Uitgeverij. To do good better Gyldendal Group Agency have sold the novel to publishing houses in USA and Germany as well, thereby increasing the translated versions of Nothing to 13 different languages.
The novel is about a group of youngsters attempting to prove the meaning of life. Screen rights have also just been sold to the production company Crone Film, who will adapt it into an animated movie. Last year the French version of Nothing (Rien) was rewarded the Le Prix Libbylit.
Jane Teller’s most recent novel Come (2008) is a story about human’s possibility to choose ethically. Gyldendal Group Agency has also sold this novel to Seix Barral. Seix Barral also represents writers like Philip Roth and Milan Kundera.
